DIY The Sweetest Love Letter
Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and if you’re anything like us, you’re ready to spread sweet, handmade love. Today, I’m excited to share a fun and simple project: a DIY felt love letter! We’re talking about a heartfelt envelope, complete with adorable heart pockets for letters, photos, and candy. Let’s get started on this lovable keepsake that your special someone will treasure!
Materials You'll Need:
Thread and Needle
Hot Glue Gun
Extra Decor: Flower Die Cuts, Satin Ribbon
Step-by-Step Tutorial
1. Cut and Assemble the Envelope
STEP 1: Measure & Cut: We made a rectangle body with a triangle top, sort of like a classic house shape out of white felt.
STEP 2: Fold and Secure: Then, we folded the rectangle in half, coming to the bottom of the triangle shape. We used hot glue to secure it together along the sides but you can also thread up the side to secure!
STEP 3: Flip and Decorate: After it's dry, flip it over and feel free to decorate your envelope however you'd like! We used heart die cuts, flower die cuts, printed felt, and ribbon!
Then we flipped it back over and added a small bow to the front of the envelope!
STEP 4: Heart Pockets: Now you can grab your heart die cuts (or your hand cut hearts!) and lay two on top of each other. Then, you can secure by threading the edges or hot glue to secure them together! We opted for both.
When we knotted the end of our thread, we added a small dot of hot glue to make sure it was kept secured.
Here are all of them mixed together!
STEP 5: All the Extra: When you're done with the hearts, it's time to get personal! Insert photos of you and your giftee, add a personal letter, or small pieces of candy! The more, the better.
And then you can stuff the felt envelope full and you're done!
This DIY felt love letter is a fun, meaningful way to show someone you care—perfect for Valentine’s Day or any time you want to send a heartfelt message. Whether you’re tucking in letters, photos, or candy, this keepsake is sure to bring a smile to anyone’s face.
Happy crafting, and may your Valentine’s Day be filled with love, creativity, and sweet surprises! If you followed along, we would love to see! Tag us, @ribbonandbowsohmy <3
